Help your customers keep their landscape looking healthy this drought season by promoting drought and heat tolerant plants in your garden center.
The historical drought we are currently experiencing does not seem to be going away anytime soon. We feel it is necessary to find ways to help our fellow growers deal with the water shortage. One way is to educate homeowners on the extremity of the water situation in the southwest.
2013 was California’s driest year ever recorded and it seems 2014 will not be much better. Based on the US Drought Monitor 100% of the whole state of California currently is abnormally dry to approximately 22% with a exceptional drought rating
The recent rain storms in March have not created any relief to the drought. California is only halfway to the average precipitation with two months left in the rainy season. While rain is always welcome here in the Southwest… it did not make a significant improvement in regards to the drought.
